    Frequently Asked Questions

How much does IGCSE tutoring cost in Hong Kong?
Individual sessions start at $80 USD for a 40-minute session — roughly HK$625, and stable since the Hong Kong dollar is pegged to the US dollar. Packages of 3 to 20 sessions offer lower per-session rates, and monthly subscriptions spread weekly sessions across the school year. All packages include portal access and structured practice tools.
Which Hong Kong schools do IGCSE?
IGCSE is usually studied in Years 10–11. In Hong Kong it is run by the ESF secondary schools (though Discovery College and Renaissance College follow the IB MYP instead), German Swiss International School (English stream), Yew Chung International School, Nord Anglia International School, Harrow, Kellett, and the French International School's international stream. We tutor students across all of them.
Which IGCSE exam boards do you cover?
The two main boards in Hong Kong are Cambridge (CAIE) and Pearson Edexcel International GCSE — both registrable through the HKEAA. The main exams run in the May/June series, with a November series also available. We tutor to your child's specific board and syllabus.
    How is the IGCSE graded?
It depends on the board. Cambridge IGCSE is graded A*–G in most subjects, while Pearson Edexcel International GCSE uses the 9–1 scale. We work to the grade descriptors of whichever board your child sits, so practice and feedback match how the exam is actually marked.
Does IGCSE really matter for the IB and A-Levels?
Yes. IGCSE is where exam technique and study habits are set, and strong grades — especially in Maths, English and the sciences — build the foundation for IB Higher Level and A-Level courses. IGCSE results also appear on university applications, so a solid Year 11 makes the sixth form far smoother.
Do you tutor in person or online in Hong Kong?
All sessions are online via video call with screen sharing and interactive whiteboards. This lets us match Hong Kong students with the best subject educators globally, not just those available locally. Most HK students book evening sessions between 5 PM and 9 PM HKT.
